by admin on December 20, 2010

A woman runs across a railroad crossing without looking. No Lucky for her unfortunately. Remember to always cross railroad tracks with extreme caution.

Americans are too insulated from reality and careless. People need to see this unedited version to make them think when the time comes for them on the tracks; whether running across or stopping behind the car ahead, and making themselves a sitting duck.

i’m a little offended by that comment. what exactly makes you believe this is in america? there are trains everywhere and there are also unsuspecting people everywhere. this woman (r.i.p.) died but it wasn’t because she was oblivious to the train. she just wasn’t able to move away quick enough. however i do agree more people should see this.

@Gary: The killer diesel locomotive in this clip is painted for Burlington Northern (BN), an American railroad (absorbed by Santa Fe (AT&SF), now known as BNSF).

I remember when this was on youtube. It’s sad, it’s called the “commuter dash” when impatient commuters blindly run across the tracks to board their trains. This sort of thing happens a lot…The Engineer of that train has to live with that accident for the rest of his life. No fun.

There would of been a better chance of her making it if she would of jumped backwords or just ran ahead fastly she stoped near when it was coming

This looks like a Burlington Northern logo on the engine, that would place it outside Chicago. It may be the Fairview Avenue crossing in Downers Grove , 2 blocks from where I grew up.

it’s called the observer effect. one chooses, what one wants to see. In this case, she did not see the train at all, until, it was too late- her first reaction was to stop. she didn’t even turn sideways to see, which makes me wonder, didn’t she hear the train coming? I guess when it’s your time to die, you die no matter what. R.I.P

This is why we all must obey the rules at railroad crossings!!!
These rules aren’t there for fun you know, this is what happens when you don’t follow them, perhaps the couple was in a hurry that hey decided to cross instead of waiting for the train to pass by, but this poor women R.I.P payed the ultimate price for this mistake unfortunately.
These things happen all to much around the world, not just only in the USA alone, it happens everywhere. One of the worst part of all this as well is that the train engineer in this vid has to live with this event for the rest of his life, like Mike already said.
“You all be careful when crossing train tracks out there you here, the rules are there for our safety.”

Burlington Northern E-9 Diesel locomotive. It’s American. I worked for Burlington Northern before they merged with Santa Fe… Now called Burlington Northern Santa Fe Railway (BNSF)
