GRAND RAPIDS, MI – A pickup truck driver stuck in a traffic jam in Grand Rapids says a titanium plate in his nose kept him from being severely wounded or killed by gunman who fatally shot seven people and took his own life. Robert Poore tells WOOD-TV that a man later identified as Rodrick Dantzler raised a gun and fired shots at Poore’s truck Thursday afternoon. He says a bullet ricocheted off Poore’s nose because of the titanium plate that was inserted during cancer treatment as a child.
